A photo shoot in Carson Valley with the Pine Nut Herd of wild horses yielded me with this photo reference. The wild horse lovers of the area dart the females with birth control every year but once in a while one mare slips thru. This was a brand new one who was loving on her mom while a jealous sibling intervened!

I actually witnessed these guys strutting their stuff several years ago. It was a group of seven, but these two were the dominants and both wanted total dominance. They soon went to complete "death to the looser" fighting mode.

My answer to Papa Bear, which has sold, as well as every print done of him. I flipped my reference photo and started "from scratch" to satisfy clamoring customers, enjoy him. Two other large ones will follow of a wolf and cougar!
